We were pleased to welcome our new MBA students during the annual MBA Orientation Week, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey here at the International University of Monaco.

This year’s cohort represents nearly fifteen nationalities, reflecting our commitment to diversity and internationalism. Our students bring with them a wide range of professional backgrounds and career ambitions, enriching the IUM experience through their global perspectives and varied expertise.

The Orientation Week offered the perfect combination of learning, leadership, and exploration. The program opened with a warm welcome and introduction led by Dr. Marika Taishoff, followed by a Professional Development Seminar conducted by Dr. Caroline Frisenberg, designed to help students define their personal and professional goals for the year ahead.

Recognizing that collaboration is essential to business success, the students participated in several sessions on Virtual Teamwork and Leadership with Dr. Peter Zashev, where they explored teamwork, cross-cultural communication, and problem-solving in an international context.

Midweek sessions introduced the students to key academic themes of the MBA program, including Organization Design and Change Management, Data and Decision Making, and Marketing Strategy, led by Professors Alessio Castello and Giovany Cajaiba-Santana. Between sessions, participants had the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and build strong professional relationships during informal lunches and coffee breaks.

Networking remains a cornerstone of the IUM MBA experience. To that end, students met with business advisors at THE OFFICE MONACO, engaging directly with professionals from Monaco’s thriving business ecosystem. The day concluded with a Networking Cocktail, where students, alumni, and business leaders shared experiences, insights, and career advice.

The week concluded with a session on Cross-Cultural Leadership led by Dr. Sina Grosskopf, followed by a unique cultural immersion experience titled “Learn from Monaco.” This included a guided visit to the Casino de Monte-Carlo and an exploration of how Monaco’s history, culture, and innovation intersect to shape its modern business landscape.

From leadership development to practical learning and from classroom discussions to real-world engagement, the 2025 IUM MBA Orientation Week set the tone for a transformative and inspiring academic year.
