She has recently started her own company, “Maridani“, a boutique brand agency that provides impeccable service and turnkey activations based in the Southeast United States.

What have you done since you graduated from IUM?

Since graduating from IUM, I consulted for an Events Management company in Monaco in various roles: hospitality, event production, and partnership/sponsorship. Combining the experience I have gained over the years, I have recently started my own brand agency in the US that focuses on premium and luxury brands and integrating them into emerging and mature markets worldwide.

In your opinion, what was the best part of studying at IUM?

Diversity is the best part of studying at IUM. Being from Alabama, USA, I met many different people from an array of cultures. It was fantastic! Also, it shaped me to understand others better professionally. Finally, it was part of the catalyst to cultivate my continued desire to travel and learn about other cultures

Would you say that your studies at IUM help you in your different positions? If yes, how?

The permanent professors’ academic expertise is complemented by the strong practitioner expertise of IUM adjunct faculty and guest lecturers, who bring into the classroom their real-world experience and the industry state-of-the-art standards and practices.

The pedagogy rooted in practical application definitely helped me prepare for different positions. I was prepared to go from University into a full-time consultant position.

You’re now about to launch your own company. Where does your entrepreneurial spirit derive from?

I would say that my entrepreneurial spirit was inspired from many different angles. First, my parents drive to succeed and to have their own business. From a young age, I watched the reward of working for yourself and the gratification once you have completed a task or achieved a goal. Second, my free spirit and desire to learn more were sparked completely after living abroad for over 5 years

What advice would you give your younger self?

If I could give my younger self any advice, it would be to “jump in with both feet”. There will always be regrets in life; however, you never know how beautiful and amazing life can be unless you take that risk.

Favorite memory about IUM?

Honestly, I am unable to select just one memory. My experience at IUM was eye-opening, challenging, and special. I wouldn’t change my decision at all and appreciate my time there.
