10.14.2013

From September 3rd to 6th, the International University of Monaco welcomed its new students for their orientation days.

The Fall 2013 intake is a record-breaking event with the arrival of 256 new students coming from 56 different countries. Even though France, Italy, Russia and Germany are the top 4 countries, all 5 continents are represented within the new students body.

Orientation 2013

And to accommodate such a large group, the University had to be ready! This is the reason why, during summer, everything has been set to welcome the students in the best conditions. Indeed, new classrooms and meeting rooms have been acquired by IUM (330sm located in the stadium) and some of the current classrooms have been entirely renovated.

Orientation 2013

Besides logistics, action has also been taken to showcase the involvement of IUM in the economic and social life of the Principality. Thus, during their orientation days, students had the opportunity to meet with important actors of the Monegasque economy who addressed the different groups about Monaco specificities.

Mr Aymeric Pazzaglia from the Monaco Welcome Office, Mr Joël Bouzou, President and Founder of Peace & Sport, Mr Kevin Hin from Junior Chamber International Monaco, Mr Laurent Anselmi, “Délégué aux Affaires Juridiques auprès du Gouvernement monégasque” and Mrs Judy Churchill, international trainer and coach,  gave IUM new students a sense of what Monaco really is.

The actual courses have started on September 9th but before that, students had the opportunity to discover and enjoy the wonders of the French Riviera thanks to the welcome beach party that took place on plage Marquet on Friday 6th and gathered the new students and about 50 IUM Alumni. An excellent way to get to know each other before starting a new busy and enriching academic year at IUM!
