Lunch Conference “LEADERSHIP THROUGH PHILOSOPHY AND ARTS” PART 1
By Olivier Guillet, Vice-Dean, Sciences Po
Leadership as an exploration of human potential
When management is generally supposed to be more about control (lat: manus agere: using the hand), leadership is usually related to influence. From this perspective, the almighty leader is supposed to provide his/her followers with an "empowering vision" or show "outstanding abilities to influence", whereas the manager is left with the mere supervision of earthly affairs. Is being in charge really only about "leading", about influencing, about showing the way and taking people with you? Certainly not solely.
In these 2 lunch conferences, Olivier provides business leaders with a multidisciplinary approach of leadership that encompasses philosophy, politics, management science, psychology, arts, musicology and popular culture.
