Dear Alumni,

2014 has been a very exciting year for IUM…

In February, the IUM website has been improved: more modern, responsive design and definitely more aligned with IUM’s corporate image.

In April, IUM has organized the 1st Symposium on Luxury in Monaco which was attended by 50 university scholars and academics from 15 countries, along with 200 professionals from the luxury industry. What a great success!

In June, 200 students graduated from our various programs, from the Bachelor to the DBA! They are now part of the IUM Alumni Community. In September, IUM welcomed 280 new students on campus from 56 different nationalities. Once again IUM confirms its multiculturality!

IUM also offers a new Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in response to the high demand coming from experienced professionals wishing to continue their ongoing professional activities while researching a specific managerial problematic they encounter at work. This new blended format DBA (Online and Residential Weeks) is practitioner-oriented and designed to be of functional significance to the practice of management.

In addition, IUM is very proud to have been chosen by the AMAF (Monaco’s Finance Association) to develop Monaco’s certification for finance professionals. This certification is mandatory for all new staff seeking front office positions, including traders, financial analysts, client relationship managers, sales people and direct supervisors of such professionals. 48 finance professionals among whom 15 IUM alumni passed the certification this year! Congrats guys!

Finally, as you may have noticed, IUM changed its logo last November. This move took place in the framework of a global rebranding operation within INSEEC Group, IUM parent institution. The various schools logos were harmonized to underline the belonging of the schools to the same group, gain clarity in INSEEC Group brand portfolio and strengthening its brand image. IUM new logo emphasizes its Monaco location, both with the name written in full and in the red lozenge, a hint at the Principality of Monaco own brand. This new logo will certainly increase IUM visibility, both locally and internationally.

…and 2015 looks promising with the start of the year of Russia in Monaco. “2015, Year of Russia in Monaco” brings together a set of events in Monaco highlighting the common heritage, historical and cultural relations connecting the two states. This year will also highlight the relations between Monaco and Russia in the most varied fields: science, education, sports, food and fashion…“The Year of Russia in Monaco” aims to pay tribute to the many and often longstanding relations between the two countries, and to enable each and every one of us to learn more about Russian culture and traditions.
Our next annual Alumni Reunion will be one of those important events. It will take place on October 23-25, 2015. So SAVE THE DATE! More info to come on the alumni platform.

Talking about the alumni platform, it celebrated its 1st anniversary! 27% of you are now connected! We would like to improve this number and also reconnect with the “Lost” ones. It’s important for us to have news from you and to be able to keep you updated with what’s going on at the university. Therefore, a new person will be temporary appointed to help us strengthen our relations!

The cafeteria will also be revamped during Christmas vacation and will re-opened brand new for the start of the new year!

In addition, IUM continues growing with more than 600 registered students in January 2015. We will further the development of partnerships with our parent INSEEC Group in Finance in London and Geneva, and in Marketing/Luxury with a new school called CREA Design in Geneva. New international agreements will also be concluded specifically with Italy and Russia. Also more Ph.D. professors will be hired next year to further grow our research and teaching team.

Finally, IUM will pursue the development of its Executive offer started with the AMAF Certification with the proposal of short-track programs in our domain of expertise.

As you can see a lot is awaiting IUM in 2015!

We wish you and your family a very happy holiday season and look already forward to celebrate IUM’s 30th anniversary in 2016! Mark your calendars!

Best, Regards,

Dr. Jean Philippe MULLER
General Director
