Alumni Testimonials: Valérie Couradès, MSc in Luxury Management 2015
We recently met with Valérie Couradès, MSc in Luxury Management 2015 - Fashion & Accessories Management specialization.
What have you done since you graduated from IUM?
After my graduation, I worked a few years for Façonnable here in Monaco.
Then I moved to Paris to work for some of the most prominent digital pure-players: Rue du Commerce and BrandAlley, where I learned a lot about e-merchandising, customer experience, and online strategy.
Since January 2020, I work as e-store manager at Printemps for the launch of the new luxury e-shop of the French department store.
In your opinion, what are the key takeaways of the MSc in Luxury Management program?
Professors are the main key takeaways, I would say.
At IUM, we have the chance to have in class both full-time professors and business professionals.
Full-time professors teach you the foundation (theory, concepts, and principles) while business professionals use real-life examples in today's business area. Hence we get the full picture of the business world in general and the luxury industry specifically.
All these inspiring and knowledgeable professors have helped me develop my skills and potential.
Last but not least, my international friends that bring something extra to the overall experience and who I am still in contact with.
Would you say that your studies at IUM help you in your different positions? If yes, how?
I found my first job thanks to an IUM professor, whom I always try to implement IUM values and work ethic into everything I'm doing professionally.
What advice would you give to people who decide to do this master?
Learn, explore, exchange, and enjoy
Favorite memory about IUM?
Every projects, parties, and experience I had and still have with my IUM friends, are good memories.
